OHIO RIVER FOUR WHEELERS

About Our Club
Ohio River Four Wheelers (ORFW) is a non-profit club in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. Our goal is to enjoy recreational trail riding and to promote responsible, environmentally conscious off-roading. Our club is family oriented, with twenty-five active families in our membership.

Trail rides
ORFW conducts weekend trail rides once a month except during December and January. We also ride over the Memorial Day, Labor Day and Thansgiving holiday weekends. Trail rides begin at 9:00AM on Saturday, and last all day with lunch eaten on the trail. During the summer months, some members also ride on Sunday.

Popular ride destinations include Natural Bridge, Kentucky, Livingston, Kentucky, and Jellico, Tennessee. For detailed information on ride dates and locations, please see the "Destinations" section of our website.

Vehicles
ORFW members drive several makes and models of four-wheel drive vehicles. We recognize that driver skill and vehicle capabilities are varied, and are accommodating to that fact. If you don't think your vehicle can conquer a particular obstacle...don't risk damage...go around it. There are almost always bypass trails. If you want to see what your vehicle can do, we are there with experienced advice and assistance. Where we go, we go as a group. If a trail is impassible for any of the vehicles, we take an alternate route. No vehicle is ever left behind, even in the event of a breakdown.

Vehicle requirements for trail rides are:
    Required
  • All vehicles must be street legal with appropriate licenses and insurance
  • Front tow hooks
  • Rear tow hooks
    Highly Recommended
  • First-aid kit
  • Fire extinguisher
  • Recovery strap (with no metal hooks)
  • CB radio

There is absolutely no consumption of alcoholic beverages permitted during an ORFW trail ride.

Other Activities
In addition to trail riding, ORFW members volunteer to assist with Eastern Rockcrawling Championship events, trail clean-ups, and annually make contributions to local community charities.

Hi Lift Mount

When you own a Hi-Lift jack, which most need due to the lift. The hardest thing about the jack is keeping it in a nice clean location where it will not rust, get grime, or get dented/bent. Well while I have my hardtop on I personally like this location. I am planning on keeping it in the same location but puting a case on it during the time when I don't have the hardtop on.

Mounting it was easy, and cheap. I think the total cost was under $10, and it looks great, hardly any rattles(could be zero if you wanted it to be. Personally the amount it rattles doesn't bother me.)

Here is how it looks with the rear door and window open.

The left hand side of the jack(also is the bottom side of the jack) As you can see I just took a muffler clamp, I think it was 3 1/2 inches diameter. Painted it black, and then found two more nuts that would fit the threads.

This is the back right, which holds the upper portion of the jack. Same idea as the other side.

The base(foot) of the jack fits perfect in the stock location for your jack. It takes a little bit of time to manuver it into position, but once you get it in, you can do it faster the times after.

The front view of the top of the jack mounted. As you can see I used wingnuts to hold the jack to the muffler clamp. Just put a large washer on both sides, and then thread the wingnut. I will be taking the drilling through the clamp and then putting a lock on the jack for when the top is off.
