OHIO RIVER FOUR WHEELERS

About Our Club
Ohio River Four Wheelers (ORFW) is a non-profit club in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. Our goal is to enjoy recreational trail riding and to promote responsible, environmentally conscious off-roading. Our club is family oriented, with twenty-five active families in our membership.

Trail rides
ORFW conducts weekend trail rides once a month except during December and January. We also ride over the Memorial Day, Labor Day and Thansgiving holiday weekends. Trail rides begin at 9:00AM on Saturday, and last all day with lunch eaten on the trail. During the summer months, some members also ride on Sunday.

Popular ride destinations include Natural Bridge, Kentucky, Livingston, Kentucky, and Jellico, Tennessee. For detailed information on ride dates and locations, please see the "Destinations" section of our website.

Vehicles
ORFW members drive several makes and models of four-wheel drive vehicles. We recognize that driver skill and vehicle capabilities are varied, and are accommodating to that fact. If you don't think your vehicle can conquer a particular obstacle...don't risk damage...go around it. There are almost always bypass trails. If you want to see what your vehicle can do, we are there with experienced advice and assistance. Where we go, we go as a group. If a trail is impassible for any of the vehicles, we take an alternate route. No vehicle is ever left behind, even in the event of a breakdown.

Vehicle requirements for trail rides are:
    Required
  • All vehicles must be street legal with appropriate licenses and insurance
  • Front tow hooks
  • Rear tow hooks
    Highly Recommended
  • First-aid kit
  • Fire extinguisher
  • Recovery strap (with no metal hooks)
  • CB radio

There is absolutely no consumption of alcoholic beverages permitted during an ORFW trail ride.

Other Activities
In addition to trail riding, ORFW members volunteer to assist with Eastern Rockcrawling Championship events, trail clean-ups, and annually make contributions to local community charities.
